The Double E Company is a complete resource for web handling accessories ranging from expanding core chucks and core shafts to safety chucks and core cutters. If you are processing any web material, Double E can help to improve efficiency, increase web speeds, and reduce operator injuries.

Double E’s line of shafts includes strip shafts, lightweight carbon fiber lug shafts, mechanical shafts for high-speed applications, and differential rewind shafts. A unique “quick-change” chucking system allows fast roll changeovers with no tools. The system uses a torque-activated chuck on one side of a through-shaft, with a supporting retractable roll collar on the other. The assembly slides in and out of cores easily, so switching to a new roll only takes fifteen seconds. Adapter bladder chucks are available in various sizes to facilitate running various core ID’s using the same core shaft.

For shaft less applications, the DF-2000 core chuck grips the core as the web material is pulled, so sidearm force is not necessary. The chuck does not damage cores, and allows the material to be run down to the last wrap, eliminating expensive waste.

Double E has been serving the paper, film, and foil converting, printing, and packaging industries since 1972.
