  Rajoo Ties Up With Commodore

Rajoo Engineers has joined hands with Commodore Technology, USA to launch a complete range of machinery for producing EPS foam thermoformed products. “Commodore offers a unique advantage as they not only design and manufacture machines but also operate a full-fledged commercial facility to produce foamed products. A unique blend of technology and hands-on experience will now be accessible to Rajoo and its customers,” says Sunil Jain, Director, Rajoo Engineers.

Rajoo Engineers has acquired the license from Commodore to produce Commodore designed extruders, thermoformers, tools and auxiliary equipment in India and to sell them in India, Asia and Africa. The license gives Rajoo a unique position in the rapidly growing foam market in the country while at the same time providing Commodore with a source of less expensive components for Commodore's market. The first batch of machinery will be on the floor at Rajoo by end of this year.

“Foam economics depends on density reduction while maintaining strength. And this is where the marvel of the technology lies,” says Jain. Using this technology expanded PS foamed sheets are produced using state-of-the-art tandem extruders where foaming is done using food compatible gas. The sheet is formed using a circular die. The foamed sheet further wound on rolls is thermoformed using specially designed moulds. Thermoformers incorporate an oven specially designed for foam and are servo controlled. The trim press on the thermoformer feeds the skeleton scrap directly into press grinders for onward feeding into the extruder which results in minimum wastage.
