LMAI Awards, instituted by the Label Manufacturers Association of India and organised by the Label Exposition Pvt. India, is first of its kind in the entire country to recognise and award the Indian label industry and exhibit their potential to the rest of the world. After liberalisation, India has become a hub for out-sourcing. Lately, with the developments in the Indian printing industry, brand managers from the west are looking at India’s potential for Print Process Out Sourcing. LMAI Awards hopes to be a window to showcase the Indian label printing capabilities in to the world. Participating in the Competition would be a statement by the printer that his work has reached the highest standards set by the global market and that his achievements have been recognised by the industry. The winners of the competition will be declared in June and will be awarded in special function organised along with the India Label Show on the 4th of December 2004 at New Delhi. The function is poised to be a major event attended by who’s who of the label industry from India and abroad. The competition will be in 10 following categories: Category 1: Flexo Line Category 2: Flexo Line & Screen / Tone Category 3: Flexo Colour Process Category 4: Letterpress Line Category 5: Letter Press Line & Screen/Tone Category 6: Letterpress Colour Process Category 7:Food & Beverages (including wine & spirit), any process Category 8: Cosmetic any process Category 9: Tags & Coupons any process Category 10: Innovation Award demonstration use of in-line printing & converting procedures. Awards will be given in each category. The selected winners will be entered in the World Label Association Competition, to be held in Chicago in September 2004. The winner of LMAI award and the World Label Association Competition will be given ample publicity in the national and international trade magazines.
