  Together Flexo
A technical association for the industry mooted


The leading players in the country's fledgling flexo industry got together on the 31st August evening at Mumbai and decided to set up a technical association for the industry. Print-Packaging.com (P) Ltd the owners of the industry portal and the organizers of the India Label Show and India Flexo Show hosted the meeting. ``There is a small wave building up for flexography in India and with some help this can even become a tidal wave,`` said Anil Arora on behalf of the company in his welcome address.
The over 25 attendees in the meeting included printers, converters, processors and industry suppliers. Several others, who could not attend had sent in their message of support. It was felt that an association would not only provide the forum for free exchange of technical ideas and discussion of mutual problems among various segments of the industry, it could play an important role in the promotion and development of flexographic printing in India.
Accordingly, a committee of thirteen members was constituted and was charged with the task of finalizing the memorandum and objectives for the proposed association. The members of the committee are B.S.Kampani of Coats Of India Ltd, Vijay Pareekh of Gidue Sales & Service (P) Ltd., Nitin Patil of Numex Blocks (India) Pvt. Ltd., Vijay K. Gupta of Sicpa (India) Ltd., Ranesh Bajaj of Creed Engineers Pvt. Ltd, Gaurav Roy of Flexo (India) Graphics Pvt. Ltd, Vinay Dayal of Alois Gutenberg Machines Pvt. Ltd. , R. S. Bakshi of Colour Dot(Madras)Pvt. Ltd, Bankim Mistry of Bharat Traders, Gautam Kothari of Interlabels Industries Pvt. Ltd., Vijay Ramachandran of E I Dupont India Private Limited, P. V. Narayanan of SIES School of Packaging and Anil Arora of Label Expositions (P) Ltd.
The next meeting of the group has been scheduled for the 4th October at Mumbai and would be hosted by Bankim Mistry of Bharat Traders. It was agreed to issue a call to other industry players to attend the meeting to make it as broad based as possible.
