The association formation is on track


The second meeting of the proposed association for the flexo industry took place at the Golden Swan Club in Mumbai on the 4th

October to review the preparations of the formation. Seventeen persons gathered to finalise the nitty-gritty of the incorporation. Several others had sent in their inputs and messages of support. The meeting was hosted and chaired by Bankim Mistry of Bharat Traders. `The formation of the association is on track,` he informed the group on behalf of the committee formed to oversee the incorporation.

It was agreed to call the new association- Indian Flexographic Technical Association (IFTA). Several other decisions required to clear the decks for

the formation were also taken.

The gathering brain stormed on an effective membership campaign. It was agreed to use the platform provided by the upcoming India Label Show to jumpstart the membership activity. Setting up of a web site for the association would be given the topmost priority.


The meeting dwelt at length on the immediate activities of the association. It was agreed that educating the users and the practitioners of the flexographic printing about the latest developments in the field was of paramount importance. Accordingly, it was agreed that Vijay Ramachandran of Dupont India would collate the inputs provided by all the interested members to provide the content for a booklet entitled 'Why Flexo' to be distributed extensively among the buyers, converters and educational institutions.

Ranesh Bajaj of Creed Engineers who would also be the host for the next meeting of the association to be held at New Delhi on The 18th November proposed the vote of thanks.
