![]() The Core Group Meets The promotional campaign for the forthcoming ICS-2005 took off with its second core-group meeting that was held in Mumbai at the India Swan Club recently. The meeting was attended by some of the major players in the industry and served as a platform to take the event forward. Among the participants were Rakesh Shah of Windmoller and Holscher, Manish Mehta of Reifenhauser (India) Marketing Ltd, Gaurav Roy of Flexo India Graphics, Thomas Anderson of Flex Foil Graphics Ltd, UK, Vijay Parikh of Gidue India, Pradeep Choumal of Kamala Industries, Nilesh Pinto of Bobst India and Packaging Veteran Ramesh Malhotra. Also present were Nani Rao from Grey Cells Advertising and P.V.Narayanan from SIES School of Packaging. The core group deliberated on the tentative themes and subjects that shall be incorporated in the show. Ideas and suggestions poured in as the meeting progressed. The meeting by and large encompassed the innovative as well as the serious aspects that would have their bearings on the event. The marketing and promotional strategies that would shape up the event gradually were also discussed. It was decided to have promotional events in New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. Aiming at giving the show a larger platform, it was unanimously decided that the promotional road shows should be taken abroad – to Colombo and Dhaka. ``We have had visitor interest from the neighbouring countries in the previous show. It is time to harness this interest in a focused way to improve the geographical profile of the exhibition’’ said Anil Arora, President, Print-Packaging.com, the organizers of the show. He also briefed the meeting about the promised support of the associations in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to the proposed promotions. The meeting decided to have a three-session three-stream conference beginning on 30th September afternoon and ending on the 1st October. The one session on the first day would address the latest developments in flexo, the second session on the next day would be on the Converting technologies and the last session on the second day would focus on the corrugated industry. Sub groups were suggested to decide on the subjects of the conference.
